Assessment and Accountability Group

This is the new area on the website for all matters dealing with assessment and accountability.  The Association’s National Executive is keen to ensure that the work that started with the Assessment and Reform Campaign (ARC) continues and moves forward and want you as members to be fully aware and involved in what the Association is doing with regard to assessment and accountability.  A new committee has been formed, the Assessment and Accountability Group, to ensure that the work is taken forward.  Following the successful campaign (ARC) with regard to SATs, which gave rise to the Bew report, the Association continues its work to get an assessment and accountability system for schools that is fit for purpose and gives proper recognition to the professional standing of teachers and school leaders.

In this area of the website, we will be keeping you informed of the work going on and also publishing our termly newsletters, as well as minutes of meetings and other documentation.  We will have links to relevant documents such as the Bew report and the recent report on the review of the National Curriculum.  We hope that you will find this area both interesting and informative.  We are also keen to receive views from you about the work that we are undertaking on your behalf.  In particular, we have a meeting planned with the DfE in the near future so would welcome any thoughts on the proposed SPaG test which is planned for 2013.  Please let us know what is important to you and what you want the group to consider.  Email kathryn.james@naht.org.uk and your comments will be considered by the group.
