Professor John Howson’s 14th Annual Report on the State of the Labour Market for Senior Staff in Schools in England and Wales, commissioned by NAHT and ASCL, has now been published.
The Report shows that too many headships in both the primary and special school sectors remain unfilled when first advertised and a significant minority remain so after a subsequent advertisement. There are some schools in the secondary sector that find difficulty in appointing a new head, but the situation overall remains better than some years ago.
