Recruitment Retention strategies

The most important asset of any educational establishment, or organisation, is its staff – both those employed on permanent contracts and those who may work on a limited-term basis (e.g. fixed term contract or those employed via an agency). Salaries, agency fees and associated costs will be the single largest cost factor for most establishments. It, therefore, makes sense to ensure your establishment recruits and retains the best staff.

This advice concentrates on creative strategies to recruit and retain staff. However, it also includes a legislation and useful advice section. This sets out relevant details you should be aware of when advertising posts or recruiting staff to your school – whether that’s on a temporary or permanent basis.

It can only be viewed by NAHT members and you will need your membership number and password to access it.
