Guidance on NUT industrial action, 5 July 2016

The NUT took industrial action on Tuesday 5 July. The action amounted to a one-day strike in protest against cuts to school funding and workload concerns. It only affected schools and academies in England.

Only NUT members took industrial action on the day.

Our general advice to NAHT members is that you only carry out your normal contractual duties during any industrial action that is being undertaken by members of other unions.

We have prepared the following advice document and FAQs to help school leaders plan and prepare for such an event. We have also included a sample letter that schools can use to inform parents of what they can expect on the day.

These documents are only available to NAHT members and you will need to log-in with your membership number and password to see them.

If you have a particular query relating to the management of industrial action in your school please ring 0300 30 30 333 and select option 1 for the specialist advice team or e-mail specialistadvice@naht.org.uk
