Joint union advice on teacher and school leadership pay scales for 2017/18

​The government has confirmed its decision to accept the recommendations of the School Teachers’ Review Body (STRB) report on pay for 2017/18 and has published the draft 2017 School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD). The STPCD will only show the minimum and maximum of all pay scales but not uprated pay points. The recommendation has been to uprate the minima and maxima of the main pay scale by 2%, and all other pay scales and allowances by 1%.   

NAHT has therefore produced the following document with ATL, ASCL, NUT, UCAC and Voice to publish indicative pay scales to support schools, leaders and teachers. This document sets out our organisations’ joint advice on the application of the provisions of the 2017 STPCD, including the adoption of pay scales and the application of individual pay increases. 

NAHT will shortly be publishing revised pay advice and model policies to support members and their employers to apply these provisions.
