Fire safety in schools

fire alarm.jpg

This brief advice paper sets out the response we have made, so far, in the post-Grenfell fire-safety-in-schools debate. It also suggests what school leaders could be doing in their own schools to maximise fire-safety steps in the meantime.

The information can be used by school leaders to provide reassurance, where it is needed, that school leaders and their unions are being proactive in protecting children; it helps to set a tone, a narrative and can be used to construct communications to staff, pupils, parents, the governing body, the academy trust and all other stakeholders.

Take a look at our joint union guidance that answers common questions and advises on how best to review fire risk assessments to ensure that children and staff are kept safe.
