HQ

Our purpose

  • Passion
  • Protection
  • Voice
  • Support
  • Connection

NAHT exists to help make the job a great one, to be at your side in times of trouble, to say the things you want said, to help you do your work well, and to bring you together for strength in numbers.

All parts of the association contribute to these goals, especially branches and regions. HQ has a specific input within the wider structure.

Our HQ structure

General Secretary: Paul Whiteman

HQ is organised into five directorates. Each is led by a member of our senior leadership team. The directorates work closely to achieve our aims – policy will inform advice and advice will highlight where policy needs to work, for example.

Representation and advice
Advising members on management, legal and employment issues and facilitating representation from regional officers or solicitors.

Democracy and governance
Director:
Magnus Gorham
Helping branches and regions to operate and ensuring members' views are heard. Ensuring compliance with legal provisions governing trade unions.

Policy, press and communications
Director and Deputy General Secretary: Nick Brook

Membership services
Director:
Charles Veal
Recruiting new members, managing our commercial activities, delivering CPD, conferences and bespoke training.

People and business support
Director:
Lisa Cockram
