Moving towards joining or forming a multi-academy trust - London

This course is for school leaders who are assessing the benefits and risks to your school of joining or forming a multi-academy trust. Delegates will receive expert advice on the changing landscape and the options available. You will investigate the processes involved in preparing for MAT status and be given tools to assess the benefits and risks of MAT status to ensure that the leadership of your school makes the right decision.

You will have the opportunity to learn about timelines and the application process. Delegates will consider the impact that MAT status will have on the leadership, management and governance of the school, with a particular focus on the leadership of teaching and learning, staffing structures, and the structure of the governing body.

We will focus on financial management and HR management across a MAT, and reflect on the benefits and risks of MAT status and the impact it may have on your school and the local community. The course will also cover how to develop the constitution and the legal and human resource implications surrounding this process.
