Aspire Peer Review

Aspire Peer Review (formerly ‘NAHT Instead’) is a peer review programme that facilitates the sharing and development of best practice to raise standards.

Clusters of three or four schools evaluate their own schools and those of others in their cluster. Reviews are guided by a lead reviewer trained to probe, facilitate and mediate.

Reviews are structured around an assessment framework, and are focussed on identifying strengths and weaknesses across the full spectrum of school delivery. It is a national framework which can be effectively deployed in both primary and secondary settings, and is available to both members and non-members.

Participants have been enthusiastic about developing skills in team working, information analysis, discussing and sharing sensitive issues, managing constructive feedback, and agreeing decisions fairly.
