Making an offer of employment, being clear about the terms and conditions that are being offered, changing the employment contract once it's in place, and bringing the contract to an end are all areas of important management activity upon which all school leaders ought to have a good understanding and grasp, especially if they want to avoid conflict and being challenged when events don't go to plan.
