A quick guide to gender pay gap reporting

​The government is taking steps to identify significant pay gaps between men and women who do the same or very similar work. The current imperative on all organisations who employ more than 250 staff members to complete a report by the end of March is likely to be the first step in a battle to close significant pay gaps where they are identified.

All schools would be well-advised, whether or not they fall into the above category, to ensure where pay gaps do prevail between men and women doing the same or very similar work, they can provide an acceptable rationale for the pay differential.
